My family just had dinner there tonight. We spent about three hours and $358.70 on our meal. We asked for another tea and were told that the kitchen was closed and there was no tea. Seriously, you can't make hot water and add tea for this group of seven of which one wanted tea. We have been coming here for years. The food is excellent, no dispute. As the restaurant was no where full tonight, a table of four and us, I really think it would have reflected on my tip, instead of 10% there would have been 15-20%. We were not being cheap but felt as though our being there was a bother. The waitress looked at the bill in the end and made a face, yes she was not impressed but guess what I paid the bill and it totalled $405.33 before the tip. This was a meal to celebrate five birthdays (my husband asked to see the bill and he is the one who said the tip should be no more than 10%) and we were not impressed. To come back again it will be the food memories that bring us in, definitely not the service. Yes I have mentioned the money value to the meal but really it was the experience. The chef/cook was excellent so no problem there. I would like someone to contact me by email asap and give me some info on what went on. I understand as servers if you are not busy you want to go home early but for the restaurant sales and word of mouth you have to put more effort into giving your customers the experience of their evening out. Didn't it used to be come and enjoy the Japanese experience? I would like some feedback from the owner or manager very soon please.
